Implementing evidence based innovations across Staffordshire
Thanks for joining us on our journey to lead the implementation of the NIHR Moving Forward Themed Review into clinical practice across Staffordshire.
The Impact Accelerator Unit (IAU) at Keele University is working alongside the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) to roll out and implement the NIHR Themed Review: Moving Forward Physiotherapy for Musculoskeletal Health and Wellbeing across Staffordshire.
This website will detail progress made by those co-creating the solutions to implementation, namely the Community of Practice (CoP) and the LINK Group (Lay Involvement in Knowledge Mobilisation). The Community of Practice brings together clinicians (GPs, allied health professionals), commissioners (CCG), patients and the impact accelerator unit to consider and prioritise the finding of the ‘Moving Forward’ themed review.
The Lay Involvement in Knowledge Mobilisation (LINK) group is a group of patient/public representatives from a range of organsiations who are committed to supporting the translation of best evidence for patients and public. The LINK group are working with the CSP and NIHR to develop a patient and public version of the Moving Forward review, so that people can access good quality evidence based information and know about why they are receiving the treatment they are receiving.
Over a period of 12 months the LINK (Lay Involvement in Knowledge Mobilisation) group will meet three times and the Community of Practice will meet four times. The LINK group are part of the wider Community of Practice. The work of both groups will inform the other.
The process is overseen by senior members of Keele University and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy to ensure that the project is delivered on time, to budget and to a high standard.
Where are we now?
We have published a survey to scope out the local NHS landscape to see where we can implement best practice into clinical pathways. Please fill this out here if you are based in Staffordshire: https://form.jotformeu.com/90932879681372
